Hi, I’m chef Crosby. I would like to introduce myself as who I am: Another pirate in a sea of flavors in this world. Since I was a little I was fortunate to grow up in a family that, despite their differences, all had one thing in common, and that was “the art of good eating” which, despite my young age, seemed phenomenal to me. I had the opportunity to feel that family warmth, which was always accompanied by delicious flavors that still live in my heart up to this day.
I grew up in Mexico City, the country’s capital. A place where more than twenty six million people currently live. A hive of cars, crowds of people in the streets, with a changing climate. In short, the typical example of a big city, that while for some could be suffocating, it could also be a place full of ancient magic, traditions, stories, art, and endless elements that make it a unique place. It’s in this great Babylon where my journey began, embarking on a world where my mind and mainly my palate would begin to be intrigued with the various culinary expressions that I was fortunate to experience.
That path began a little over thirty years ago where, as a goal, I promised to open my mind to always try new flavors, understand them, and keep them to myself. At times, being also able to play and experiment with those flavors. What I was not aware at that time was the amount of knowledge and culture that is actually linked to our food. How are past experiences, stories, and above all, cultural heritage hidden on each bite we take.
This being a brief introduction, I welcome you to become aware of the stories that will be told by us. During these stories, I will share my experiences, recipes, street dishes and images that, as a chef, I believe will be fun to share with you.
